Gary Reed

Reed, fresh from winning a silver medal in Osaka, will be represent Canada at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. Gary came in 2nd place at the 2007 World Championships and will represent Canada at this years Olympics in Beijing. Gary also won the 800m at this years Victoria Internation Track Classic at Uvic's Centennial Stadium and will race at this years Harry Jerome Track Classic in June.

 

 


 

 

Charmaine Crooks

Five Time Olympian and Olympic Silver Medalist Charmaine Crooks represented Canada for close to
20 years in Athletics. As the first Canadian woman to run under two minutes over 800 meters, she
won gold medals at the Pan American, Commonwealth, World Cup, and the World Student Games. In 1996, she was named Flag Bearer at the Opening Ceremonies of the 1996 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games. Click here to read Charmaine's Bio.

 

 

Dr. Douglas Clement

Dr. Clement, UBC athlete, coach, educator, medical innovator, Olympic representative and mentor, has been acknowledged with the Sports Medicine Council Lifetime Achievement Award, the Vanier Outstanding Young Men Award, the Sport BC Coach of the Year Award and the Order of Canada. Clement is also an inductee in the BC Sports Hall of Fame and the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame. He has been credited with being the pioneer of Sports Medicine in Canada.

 

Ian Gillespie

Ian Gillespie, CEO and Owner of Westbank Projects Corp, is responsible for some of the most extravagent and beautiful hi-rises in one of the best places to live in the world, Vancouver. A promising middle distance runner, Ian traded his running shoes to build his empire and stamp his footprint in North America. Westbank Projects has been responsible for the Shaw Towers, The Fairmont and the famous Shangri-La completingin late 2008.

 


The Honourable William B. Smart, Q.C.

Mr. Justice Bill Smart received a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 1975 and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Washington (Seattle) in 1971 and was admitted to the Bar of British Columbia in 1976. He practised initially with the Attorney General of British Columbia and then with Doust Smith (1980-1988) before starting his own firm in 1988 which in 1991 became Smart & Williams. A former Olympian, he is a frequent lecturer and a Fellow of both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Society of Barristers.
